I've started tracking the big tournies on SC (500's and up) to come up with a point system on a weekly and monthly basis...at least for one month. Should make it fun and interesting to follow.

* I'd really like to see SC do this and make give SPOY more relevancy to nearly all who play here. If you can't play a lot for overall yearly scoring, at least you can have a chance for something on a weekly and monthly basis. I'll create another blog to have discussions about that.

* Scoring is easy. 10x points for place depending on tourney. Example: 500's, points for top 27, 270 for first, 260 for second and so on. 1k's - top 36, 5k's - top 54, 30k's - top 72.

* So if you have consistency daily, you can move up. If you do well in the weeklies, you can be near the top.

Scoring is not really up for discussion. This is what I've decided. I've created a spreadsheet with built in formulas and only takes me about 10 minutes each day to enter. I'd like to make the spreadsheet available to view, but not sure how to make that happen. Any ideas?

*** Please note: In the results, I am missing the final 8 from the 1k on 12/1. SC never posted those results the next day. I was able to get up to the top 8 as I was still watching. I've contacted SC but no luck getting those top 8. I will keep trying to ask.

tripple the entrants,started sep 3, same $ same spoy, same points, we pay to play poker.funny how the members are growing but nothing else is,any poker site pays the top 10% as far as spoy u win 1 big tourney go from 2000 in spoy to 100!!!!!!!!!!!! joke....

Explain how this system differs from SPOY scoring? Seems like a very small difference to me, having trouble seeing your point...

...good player that plays half or more of all the 500 and up tourneys should be right up there in the SPOY race regardless of how many smaller games they've played. The SPOY needs some adjustments - pay top 10%, sitngo shootouts, heads up tourneys, large field, small fields with big buy ins - to find overall best player but it is a loyalty race based on consistent delivery of results ans CHILLSHOT deserves it. But I agree we should also have monthly and big tourney races.

Well I play very few 500 and up tourneys (except 5k/30k) as they are out of my timezone. My hit rate in the tourneys smaller than 500 is better than most of the players above me in the spoy (except maybe tyrant). I'm not complaining - if i could play more big ones I'd probably play less small ones or donk it up more in them. Player of the Month, High Roller of the Year (big tourneys only) are good ideas - but the SPOY should stay too - it's weighting gives everyone a chance to do well. Any...

nice job & great idea gives alot more players a chance to be competitive.In cash tourneys usually top 15% get paid .
top 11-15% get some pts
top 7-10% get some pts
in the 1k they pay 45 out of 1884 so u have to be in the to 2.5% to get paid.It kinda sucks that you beat 95% of the players and get squadoosh.
